HHU Institute of Plant Genetics

Our group investigates the molecular basis of development in the important crop barley. We aim to decipher which genes control the development of plant meristems and how environmental factors impact these processes. We use natural variation within barley, but also wild barley and related barley species. The latter are a useful research object to study annuality and perenniality in plants.
