CPlantBox is a whole-plant modelling framework designed to simulate these complex processes, building on the root system model, CRootBox. This flexible framework supports the simulation of diverse plant architectures, encompassing both roots and shoots. A key feature of CPlantBox is its ability to couple with external models, such as PiafMunch, a mechanistic model of water and carbon flows.
In the publication, the authors demonstrate CPlantBox's versatility through five case studies, illustrating its capacity to replicate plant structures, simulate diurnal water and carbon fluxes, and assess the effects of environmental heterogeneity. The framework also allows for the integration of experimental data to model phloem pressure and flow speed.
The data of the aforementioned five case studies are stored in this ARC.
