+# Expression of drought responsive genes
+
+Based on the results of the RNA-Seq analysis of *R. nigrum*, genes responsive to the drought stress treatment were selected for validation of their expression in leaves and roots of adult plants and leaves in young plants by qRT-PCR. A total of 13 differentially expressed genes, comprising 6 upregulated and 7 downregulated genes in leaf tissue of adult plants were selected for the measurement.
